D&J Chemicals was founded in 2013, the enterprise is located in Jinzhou Economic Development Zone, Hebei Province. It covers an area of more than 27,000 square meters and has an annual yield of 10,000 tons of methyl cellulose.
When it comes to tile, sag resistance in construction is a factor that should not be overlooked. Today, SLEOCHEM technicians conducted a tile adhesive anti-sagging test to bring you up to speed on the importance of tile grip and sag resistance.
Preparation for the test
First, make a good quality tile adhesive with HPMC as well as other additives. If you are not sure about the configuration of tile adhesive, you can refer to the article “HPMC for Tile Adhesive“. The technician places the edge of the steel ruler on the top of the concrete slab keeps it level, and sticks a 25mm wide masking tape against the lower edge of the steel ruler.
Perform adhesive application
Apply a thick layer of adhesive to the concrete slab, just covering the bottom of the masking tape. Like an artist creating a masterpiece, comb through the adhesive with a toothed 6 mm X 6 mm squeegee to ensure an even, precise application.
Ensuring experimental details
Immediately remove the masking tape and place a 25mm wide spacer close to the lower edge of the steel ruler. After 2 minutes, place the ceramic tiles that After 2 minutes, place the ceramic tiles that meet the requirements closely against the spacers, and place a briquette with a mass of about 5kg on the ceramic tiles for 30 to 35 minutes.
Capturing Accuracy
After removing the spacer, the technician uses a vernier caliper to measure the distance between the edge of the scale and the tile. Immediately after measuring, carefully raise the concrete slab vertically.
20 minutes waiting time
At five-minute intervals, a video was taken for documentation purposes. After 20 minutes, the technician re-measured the distance between the edge of the straightedge and the tile. The difference between the two readings is the maximum distance the tile will sag under its weight.
Standards and Test Results
In the field of anti-sagging ceramic tile adhesives, the standard sag is set at less than 0.5 mm. Now, our test result is 0.1 mm.
